Please read this important message from AANP:
This Week in Washington
As of the time of this newsletter's publication, the House and Senate continue negotiations on a third legislative package to address the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
As debate and negotiations continue related to the COVID-19 legislative relief package, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners® (AANP) is encouraging nurse practitioners (NPs) to use the links below to urge elected officials to express their support for retaining the home health care section in the legislative package. This section would authorize NPs to certify their patients' eligibility for home health care services, helping to ensure Medicare patients have timely access to home health care. In addition, AANP urges congressional leaders to ensure the legislative package includes critically needed personal protective equipment (PPE) for NPs and other clinicians.
We ask that you visit the AANP Advocacy Center and support patients and providers during the COVID-19 pandemic by sending letters to your Members of Congress. Urge them to express their support to congressional leadership for retaining the home health care section and to include policies that ensure NPs and other clinicians have access to critically needed PPE.
