Congressional Update
We are happy to share exciting news! Last week, H.R. 2150, the Home Health Care Planning Improvement Act of 2019, was introduced in the House of Representatives. This bill was introduced with bipartisan support by Representatives Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), Buddy Carter (R-GA), Ron Kind (D-WI), Mike Kelly (R-PA), Susan Wild (D-PA) and David Joyce (R-OH). This legislation, identical to Senate bill (S.296) that was introduced in January, would authorize nurse practitioners (NPs) to certify patients, under their care, to be eligible for home health care services. Please visit the AANP Advocacy Center to urge your Members of Congress to cosponsor this legislation.

Congress In-district Work Period
Members of Congress are currently in the first week of a two-week in-district work period, and this presents a good opportunity for you to schedule a meeting with your Members of Congress to continue to educate them on issues of importance to NP practice. If you are not able to schedule a meeting, we encourage you to utilize the AANP Advocacy Center to deliver your message. Please make your voices heard!
