Health Care in Congress This Week
On February 27, the Medicare for All Act of 2019 was introduced by Congresswoman Jayapal (D-WA), along with more than 100 Democratic Members of Congress. Both the House and Senate are in session this week, and committee hearings are scheduled on a variety of health care topics. It is safe to say that patients and the health of the nation will be on the minds of many in Congress throughout the week. While health care is a focus, this is a critical time to engage your elected officials using the AANP Advocacy Center. Urge them to cosponsor or thank them for their support of key federal legislative priorities that promote nurse practitioners’ high-quality, cost-effective care that patients across the country rely on.
